Memorial Day 2011

Winter in Denver was dreamy.  Perfectly blue skies and mild temperatures everyday.  Spring on the other hand has been weird and sporadic.  We have been in and out of coats and shorts.  Memorial Day this year was no different.  The temperatures were in the low 60s and swimming was out of the question, so we did the next best thing, we headed for the mountains.

We hiked to a beautiful waterfall just outside of Boulder.  It was so beautiful and we were all shocked at the power of the water coming down.  It was spectacular.

FAIR IN BOULDER

On our way home, we stopped in Boulder at a Memorial Day Fair.  It was a charming little fair with a handful of carnival rides and plenty of vendors selling corn dogs and cotton candy.  (Being that it was Boulder, there were also plenty of hemp tattoos, hippies and dread locks).

We soaked up the environment and the kids enjoyed a few of the rides. It was a beautiful evening in the mountains.

Now, will someone please remind "Mother Nature" that it is time for summer?  I am done with coats and am ready for the sunblock and hot days at the pool. Please??
